Not Every Haunting is a Demon

We speak to a lot of people who believe their homes are haunted. We listen to their stories, and their experiences, and come to find many times there are ways to debunk the activity or they are merely in the presence of a friendly ghost who once resided in their home or on the land.

The many television shows out there about the paranormal like to "glorify" the demon. It is what catches the audience attention. The scary, evil and vile spirit no one ever wants to come across. Why is that? We never want to come across a demonic haunting and if we ever feel we are in danger, even from just an angry old spirit, we leave the location. Safety first! I am including this section about the TV shows because we believe a lot of people get "brainwashed" into thinking every haunting is demonic, when really, it is the most uncommon haunting out there. You watch a certain show and every haunting they come across they say there is a "malevolent spirit" or also known to them, a demon. I won't name any shows, but there is a specific one that ALWAYS seems to run into a demon. I have come to the conclusion, if that is what they are really finding, then that demon must be following them, and it is not something that is at that location permanently.

People who have not dealt with haunting's tend to be more frightened and scared, and when you're frightened and scared we tend to associate that with something bad, in this case, a demonic haunting. When really it's just taboo and unknown so it is a little frightening to some.

We have only had one person who was not willing to change their mind about their home being haunted by a demon. Their claims were the typical banging, seeing shadows, voices, and feeling uneasy. We tried to explain to this person the signs of a demonic haunting, but they were not having it. They even went as far to tell us that they had, had a medium in there that "saw the demons face". We then tried to explain how spirits can manipulate what they look like to make you think they are something that they are not. It went in one ear and out the other. I guess they just really wanted to be convinced their house was haunted by a demon. Most come to realize, it is just a regular old spirit. Whether they are intelligent or residual, there is usually no need to be scared of them.

Have we come in contact with angry, malevolent, mean spirits? Yes, we sure have. When you go to locations such as Missouri State Penitentiary, you really can't expect to come in contact with "nice" spirits.

One thing we want to point out, if you are scratched by a spirit, that does not mean it is a mean spirit nor does it mean it is demonic. That scratch may be the only way they can communicate with you. Spirits have to build up energy called electromagnetic energy typically from an electromagnetic energy field (EMF). That is why when we investigate we use EMF detectors, we will take a sweep of a room to see if there is any "natural" EMF in the area from electricity (lights, electric boards, breakers), even phones can set them off (put your phone on airplane mode). We take a base reading, typically if there is not a lot of EMF around your reading will be zero, but there could be a base reading of 5.0. If our meter spikes up to 10.0 we try to find the source, if we can't, then that could be a spirit trying to make contact with us. However, got a little off topic there, going back to the scratches. A spirit may only build up enough energy to scratch you as it can take them days, weeks, months, years to build up just a small amount of energy. There are some spirits that are strong than others, why, we are not quite sure. A lot of people will also resort to "demonic" when a spirit has a lot of energy. Maybe that spirit has been building up that energy for a while and you were the lucky ones it waited to release that energy on and communicate with you.

Please, whatever you do, research the paranormal and types of haunting's before coming to a conclusion that a haunting is demonic. Ask us questions, we'd love to help you out!
